Who We Are!
The Alexandria Tutoring Consortium (ATC) is a nonprofit organization that supports the Alexandria City Public Schools by providing literacy tutoring and accompanying materials to kindergartners and first graders in 9 of the city’s public 14 elementary schools. We use a curriculum developed by the University of Virginia Curry School of Education, called Book Buddies, to work with children who are identified as needing individualized attention to become successful readers. ATC has been a valuable resource for Alexandria public schools since 1996, serving almost 3,000 students to date.
